1) Watermelons and melons, in general, are amongst the fruits with the highest sugar content. Watermelon is high on the glycemic index and contains very little fiber. Try pairing it with low GI, high fiber fruits.

5) Mangoes are amongst the most dangerous fruits for diabetics to consume. One cup of mangoes contains about 23 grams of sugar and 100 calories.

6) Dried fruits may seem like a healthy snack, but by removing the water content of these fruits, the sugar content becomes highly concentrated.

    You can eat fruits in moderation but it would be safer if you eat veggies rich in fiber before eating any kind of fruits including those tagged as worst fruits for diabetics

    Lots of inaccurate and misleading information here. For example, watermelons are mostly water and have a low Glycemic Load. Mangoes have a medium GI but also a low Glycemic Load. Any fruit, or indeed any food, consumed in excess is bad.

    My oldest son is in his early 20's and he has type 1 diabetes. But thank God for this piece of article At first he thought he had the flu and was lying down on the bed for three days until his sister took him to the hospital. They took his blood and it was 600. What I do not understand is how he could have gotten it, since no one in the family has it. But he is winning the battle now. This is good stuff.
